A Notable Project an Example of What the Club Achieves

Perhaps the most significant project undertaken by the Rotary Club of Maleny was the development of Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve which involved the input of thousands of hours over many years of both Rotarians and their partners.

The Reserve is home to the phyllodes imperialis (southern subspecies), an impressive moth with a 14 cm wingspan. The only location identified as a breeding ground for the moth is Mary Cairncross Reserve. Many other notable species of flora and fauna can be found in the reserve and club is an integral part of the community's effort to preserve the area for future generations.

The reserve is earmarked for further upgrade to its facilities and the Rotary Club of Maleny has recently reaffirmed its ongoing financial a physical support for this wonderful community asset.
